Break free from the cycle of Failure, guilt & overcompensation

You would all agree we’re humans? (Obv. The aliens hidden amongst us are sweating

We treat our loved ones with utmost respect, kindness and understanding.

Whereas, with ourselves, we demand perfection, expect a higher standard, set lofty goals, put pressure and constantly beat ourselves down. We do the same with our health & fitness.

Let me give you some scenarios ----->

IF YOU FEEL THAT'S YOU, HERE'S WHAT TO DO

  • Set action based goals vs outcome based goals

    • instead of focussing on losing 5in, focus on walking more, being regular at the gym.

  • Set small achievable goals.

    • instead of going from 3k to 5k steps, do 3.5k

  • Focus on minimums over maximums

    • I'll try to workout atleast 2x/week vs I'll go to the gym everyday

    • I'll workout for 20mins atleast vs I'll go hard for 60mins

    • I'll focus on adding more protein to one meal everyday vs I'll have protein in all meals

  • Past is past, what done is done. Don't fret over the past. Learn from it and move on. Don't overcompensate. Rather, resume to normal.

    • Missed your workout? No problem. That's life. Go whenever you're supposed to go next.

    • Over ate yesterday? No problem. You're human. Eat adequately today. Don't starve.

  • Pick one thing instead of 5 and ace it. Set yourself up for success. Health is not forced, it is not supposed to be hard. Make it easy.

  • Progress is progress. 1%, 10% or 100%. Focus on small wins, a little better everyday.
